For years much of my time in the corporate world was spent focusing on the best approaches to motivate my team.
I ran sales divisions from $20M to $45M so it was critical that my team was successful.
Some were masters of drive, consistent over-performers, and some were opposite.
When I look back at how much time & energy, I put into those who had so much negativity, I kick myself for keeping them on for as long as I did.
I was determined to motivate them to their best selves.
But here’s the thing, those types of people stop business growth and if I was a small business, it would have had a catastrophic impact.
If you have low performers in your business and your business is struggling, the problem isn’t them, the problem is that you’ve accepted your unspoken assumptions that you can motivate them to improvement, don’t have time to find someone better, etc.
Ask yourself, “If this person quit today, how would I feel and what are 3 things I would go and do?” AND THEN GO DO IT. This is your business to grow.
If it seems overwhelming, reach out to me. I’ve taken businesses from almost closing to profitable and I will do the same for you today.
